What is Treemitra ?

Treemitra is a social platform through you can give your support by planting trees for a healthy green and clean environment. It is a place where the enterprise that provides a unique greet-with-trees service that allows individuals and corporate to commemorate special occasions by planting trees on behalf of family, friends or employees, in projects initiated by our organisation in all sectors of Punjab.

Is Our Organisation non-profit ?

Yes, it is not a non-profit organization with an aim to make this planet better.

What kind of projects we are running to make environment green ?

Tree Mitra has 11 projects spread across Jalandhar,Punjab.Our projects aim to effect environmental and social impact. We plant trees to , improve wildlife habitats, rejuvenate rivers, support rural livelihoods, etc.

How do I know that my trees have been planted ?

We update supporters of our efforts via our Website (Photos, Blog, Project Page),Text Message, Facebook and Instagram.

How do I keep updated on the work being done by treemitra.com?

We update supporters of our efforts via our Website (Photos, Blog, Project Page), Facebook and Instagram.Of course, you can. Using the Locate Tree feature on our website, you can determine the region/project location in which your tree(s) have been planted on Google Maps.

Can I choose an area to plant trees?

We currently only allow users to plant trees in our existing projects. However, you can decide which project to plant in.

Can I visit the site where the tree I plant is?

yes, you can visit the site where your plant is planted, by visiting our website and entering the Tree no. you will get the location of your Tree Planted at the Site.

Which trees are planted?

The variety of trees planted depends upon agro-climatic conditions and the benefit of those trees in terms of flowers, fruits, fodder, fuel and non-timber forest produce for the local community as well as insects, birds and animals. All trees planted will be species indigenous to the planting site.

When do you plant trees?

The planting process is systematically done. A nursery is created and maintained till the saplings are ready to be planted. The plantation of saplings takes place during the Indian monsoon season (July-August-September) to ensure higher survivability.

Can I be linked to the tree I plant?

Given the scale on which we plant and community participation, you will appreciate that is not possible to link an individual to a tree. We plant trees only on public lands for the benefit of the environment and the local communities in that region who bear the responsibility of maintaining the trees.However, using our Locate Tree feature you can connect with our projects virtually on Google Maps.

What is the impact of the projects?

Our projects aim to effect environmental and/or social impact. We plant trees to restore forests, improve wildlife habitats, rejuvenate rivers, support rural livelihoods, etc.
